D Drive - 3D
D Drive is the brainchild of guitarist Don Mancuso. Don Mancuso has released 2 solo albums. The latest solo album was titled "D Drive" and now Mancuso has assembled a band carrying the D Drive name.

Don Mancuso started his career in Black Sheep - the band that also featured later Foreigner lead singer Lou Gramm. Everything has come full circle since Don Mancuso now plays guitar for the Lou Gramm Band. When you work with a singer of Lou Gramm's caliber why settle for less? The D Drive singer Phil Naro is a diamond in the rough even though he is an established name having played with Talas and Peter Criss. Phil Naro has also released solo albums and had his own band Naro.

D Drive is a melodic rock combo. They sound best on Next Train, where everything comes together;  soaring vocals, great melody lines and great guitars. Dig Down features bassist Billy Sheehan (from Naro's Talas days). Dig Down has a hard driving rhythm that is driven by Sheehan's characteristic speed playing.  Kiss the Ground is another melodic treasure and Chains on you is a Hard Rock song driven by Phil Naro's great vocals

Last to Fall sees Mancuso shines through with some bluesy licks. The touching Never Had a Chance is a sappy ballad, while Always Done What I want is a bit boring.

Overall a nice record that combines AOR and melodic Hard Rock. Phil Naro sounds amazing on this release and his voice has a perfect tone for melodic Hard Rock. Hopefully D Drive stays together and keeps writing tunes in the same vein as Next Train.
