Danko Jones - Below the Belt
Since 1996 Danko Jones has been an active touring band famous for their energetic live performances. The band has 5 albums under their wings. The band consist of bassist John Calabrese, drummer Dan Cornelius  and Danko Jones on guitar/Vocals. Danko Jones'  6th studio album is also be my first introduction to the Canadian Rock trio after witnessing the video for "Below the Belt"s lead single Full of Regret. The song grabbed me immediately with its riff and catchy chorus.

"Below the Belt" is a simple but very effective rock album. The trio sounds very powerful and producer Matt DeMatteo manages to create an aggressive sound, which suits Danko Jones' melodic rock songs.

The album has several great tracks. It is impossible not to tip your toe to Tonight is Fine or letting loose on Magic Snake. The bouncy The Sore Loser, I Think Bad Thoughts or the punk rocking Apology Accepted are rapid rock songs from this high octane album.

"Below the Belt" is very energetic because it isn't till song 8 that Danko Jones slows down the tempo. You easily can imagine this sweat dripping Rock N' Roll unfolding itself in a live situation.

Danko Jones is a well-oiled Rock machine where each song let out steam. The lyrics match the music, since they are fun and twist around Women and sex with a twinkle.

Do like Danko Jones and unleash your rock beast. The closing song I Wanna Break up with you is the perfect ending to a hectic record with its "Beatles" like harmonies and catchy chorus that leaves you wanting more Danko Jones.

This needs to be played loud MUTHA! Crank it up.
