Baby Jane - Next in Line/This is War (single)
I had the chance to witness Baby Jane in concert at Rock The Night Festival in Copenhagen, December 2009. The band got on stage with an attitude like Vains of Jenna and they were straight in your face. Sadly the sound hampered the overall impression, but on this 2 track single the band shows great potential and what a great sound/production can do. If they got the tight people behind them Baby Jane could be the next thing coming from Sweden. The EP is produced by Chris Laney who helped Crash Diet to stardom. Laney has been involved in some of the best recent recordings including Zan Clan, Crazy Lixx and the almighty Babylon Bombs.

Baby Jane has got the ammunition in the shape of songs like I Don't Care, One of a Million, Next in Line and This is war. Next in Line shows how well the two guitarists complement each other. Next in Line is the best song since its attitude packed and got great hooks. The middle piece in This Is War, which breaks down for the guitar solo underlines the potential of the band.

The big turning point is the lead singer - his voice is one your either love or hate without any middle way.  I like his voice because it's not a typical Glam voice, which differentiates Baby Jane a bit.

It is always hard to judge a band by 2 songs only in a playing time of 7 minutes, but this CD leaves me wanting more.
