Band Profile

What is your name and your current position in the band?

Magnus aka Mr. Whattafuck, Lead vox

How would you categorize the style of the band? And did you ever consider or try playing other styles of music than the one(s) you are playing now?

Hard rock, Punkish Sleaze
I have done that, and do still write a bit more softer rock/acustic rock as solo-stuff, got some old stuff on myspace still, if I'm not mistaking...

What is your latest album and why should people buy it?

"Screw The Consequences", and people should buy it to have something new to brag about to their friends....which should also buy it, to be equally cool...

Tell us about the history of the band. More specifically, when was the band formed, how did you meet, and have there been any particular highlights or low points in your career, any crucial events that have taken you where you are today?

Dennis post interrupts:

Google "Starrats interview" and you'll find the answer about 150 places.. sorry to be
An asshole about it, but I'm fuckin' fed up with that question.
I'm out again. :)

Was there ever a time when you wondered if your band would remain just a local outfit and never make it in the industry?

Sure, but then we stopped playing Staind-songs and wrote our own...

Can you share with us one or two of your favourite moments with the band?

Well, on tour in Amsterdam we decided to finish of the last day there by getting fucked up, and THEN doin´ strikeouts, to pass out and to wake up rested and in the next town the next day...that was the plan...
(we have a thing about always watching Beerfest on dvd everyday in the tourbus, and we are stupidly influenced by it every time!)
I ended up walking out of the tourbus, to take a piss, in my zombie-state of mind, going 150 km/h, and in the last second was caught by my belt by our drummer Christian, while he was driving, so I just pissed from there...hahaha then he stopped the car and i ended up falling over...still pissing...
Dennis ended up passing out in the bunk-bed above the driver, pissing his pants, not once, but twice, while the driver was wondering what the hell was pouring down on him.....twice hahaha
It was ofcourse karma bitch!
That, and the release of this album is my 2 fave's!

How is the writing process in the band?

Fine, thank you for asking!

Most of the time, not all, but mostly, Post, our guitarist comes with a riff and builds a song out of  it, then they jam it together  at the rehearsal, and I either take it home n write the lyrics, or do it when they play it, or even as late as in the recoringprocess..
If there are parts I can't write anything for, I tell post to change it, or well just jam till something sticks..

What brought you on the path to becoming a musician? Did you ever consider or take any other paths through life besides music?

I blame everything on Mötley Crüe, girls, and the dead town I lived in at that time..
I had Circus in mind for some time, but I have no balance, can't juggle 2 things at once, and I look way to good in make-up to be taken seriously as a clown so....

Do you have any idols? If yes, who?

I would like to take this opportunity to offer Patric Duffy a place to stay, any time he's in Malmoe, Sweden.

Do you have any regrets looking back at your career? For example any songs or even full albums that you regret recording?  If so, what made you regret it?

I regret not going into music seriously at an earlier stage, but I was scared shitless singing in front of people when i was in school....
No songs or albums, I'm proud of all my songs actually....

Are there particular songs in your catalogue that the fans love but you're not particular fond of yourself?

I hope not, I don't think so...

How important do you rate the lyrical side of your albums?

Shouldn´t ask me that, I'll come of like a complete ass....hahaha
But good lyrics in general with a badass melodi is really important for me to love an album, without it I grow bored of it really fast...

What do you think about the state of the music industry today?

Hard, poor and in limbo from the old days and what is to come....if your'e in it cuz you love it, and not for the cash, you'll be fine, otherwise your'e fucked, if your'e not huge....but it also limits you as an artist and a band...

What do you think is the best way to fight music piracy?

Not fighting it at all. Find new possibilitys and ways to meet fans, people, and ways to distribute it and make it worth for people buying it, and makin' it!

Do you have a life philosophy? If yes, what is it?

Do onto others as you would have done onto them

Can you describe a typical day in your life?

Wake up, hoping that its a gig day, if so, go back to sleep, wake up late, get a coffee, pack my bags, wait to be picked up by a cab to go to the tourbus. Meet the boys, drive, ride, drink, set up stage n merch, eat whatever the place offers, drink whatever the place offers. Sound check, hangout, get dressed for the show, Sing my ass off, drink whatever I can get my hands on, pass out....Wake up, have another beer, pass out again.

What do you like to spend your time with besides music?

My ants, friends, rockclubs, conserts, fish, beer and women....

What's the craziest thing that has ever happened on a tour?

See above, I think walking out of a moving tourbus qualify's a pretty crazy shit...

You're heading off to live on a deserted island for a couple of years with your portable entertainment system... Which albums, movies or books would you bring? (Max. 3 of each)
Cd's,  Too Fast For Love, Blind Melon, and Appetite for Destruction
Books, The Dirt, Heroin diarys, and The Complete Playboy Collection (if it exists...) hey its a deserted Island ffs!
Movies, The Crow, Fletch, and and any good porno will do...hey its a deserted Island ffs!

What is your favourite joke?

-Knock knock
-Who's there?
-Woo
-Woo who?
-Woo hoo!

Hahaha that was stupid....and i just made that up...

Can you tell us about any future plans for you and your band?

Touring, Touring and working our asses off!
So get to the shows people!
