Jack Bruce & Robin Trower - Seven Moons Live
Jack Bruce is best known for his work in Cream. Now Bruce has relived the power trio along with sidekick Robin Trower and Gary Husband. Trower and Bruce have earlier collaborated in the early 80's recording 2 albums. The soulful Carmen is off the first Bruce/Trower album from 1981. The song really lives up performed live 28 years later, since Carmen is delivered with passion and touching guitar playing from Robin Trower.

Overall this live recording displays a band enjoying them-selves. Jack Bruce, Robin Trower and Gary Husband sound tight and the joy of playing permeates the album. Most songs are taken from last years "Seven Moons" album spiced with some of Bruce's valuable contributions to Rock history. Especially the version of White Room is remarkable. Trower doesn't imitate Clapton but plays like Robin Trower and adds something extra to White Room with his extraordinary playing.

No fear of Jack Bruce getting old and grumpy. He is in great shape. The material is strong and no recycling of old ideas. Robin Trower is impressive on this recording and his great tone is a leitmotif of the concert. The Last Door is a great example of the great compositions of Jack Bruce & Robin Trower. The Last Doors is a sublime piece build on a great Trower riff.

"Seven Moons Live" is enjoyable. In the past years there has been much focus on the term Classic Rock. Well, this is it: This is classic rock in its purest sense.
