The story of
High Noon is the same as most unsigned bands of that era. They all had their prime time being local heroes, but also disappointments since they never landed a record deal despite that
High Noon worked with some hotshot names like Michael Lardie from
Great White and Michael Wagener.
The career of
High Noon is displayed on this disc in chronological order. From the start till the last recording made December 1994 these 65 minutes sums up what
High Noon was about.
High Noon is straight ahead Heavy Rock with guitarist Ken Hittsman being the trump card. The bands style is much alike
Dokken - great vocals up front and screaming guitars. The album highlights are
Bad Moon Risin and
Have My Heart. Guitarist Ken Hittsman plays some tasty melody lines and riffs on
When the Night Calls and
Skatin' on Thin Ice. The last two songs are
High Noon's most important era recorded at a session with Michael Lardie and Michael Wagener mixing it in October 1990.
High Noon became a bit softer over the years. However, they also grew as musicians and especially the groovy and bluesy
Bed of Lies stands out on the later recordings.
The demo that
High Noon recorded in 1990 should have landed them a deal, but 19 years later Eönian Records does
High Noon justice with this release.
