DVD Review - Tesla - Cumin' Atcha Live
Tesla was one of major bands I grew up on. An overlook of Tesla's 25-carreer:

12 albums
2,500 + shows
16 million albums sold worldwide

The live performance is filmed at Myth Nightclub, Maplewood, Minnesota February 22, 2008. Myth Nightclub is a very cool venue with an excellent vibe. The sold out show displays a well oiled Tesla and the show is very much like the concert in Hamburg, Germany so if you read that review you know what Tesla stands for in concert. For the DVD they play the strongly missed Song and Emotion and also Tesla airs Dear Pvt. Ledbetter off "Forever More" written in honor of the American troops.

Tesla is not especially exciting to watch on stage, but musically they are flawless. The backing is tight and Frank Hannon has found his musical comrade in Dave Rude. I have seen Tesla twice with Dave Rude and this DVD just proves that he fits the band very well. Jeff Keith has a true Rock N' Roll voice and he has kept his unique tone throughout the years even though his voice suffers some at the end of the show.

There are a few clips in between the live songs. Brian Wheat labels UFO as one of the best melodic Hard Rock bands and Frank Hannon tells a short story about their relation with Def Leppard and Song and Emotion being about the late Steve Clark.

Starting with the "Real to Reel" records Tesla has released their own records. They have also done everything on this video, which certainly is value for money with over two hours of live music and more than an hour of special behind-the-scenes footage.

The behind the scenes footage sees Frank Hannon skills as an archer, life on the road and the band walking around Seattle seeing the sights. The best segment is each member showing and telling about their touring equipment and guitars.

Tesla has been touring all over the world in support of the "Real to Reel" albums and even did two European tours and this DVD just emphasizes that the band is a tight live band.
