Duff McKagan's Loaded - Wasted Heart
After Scott Weiland left Velvet Revolver the star strutted line up has taken tome time off to find a new singer, but also to reinvent themselves via their solo projects.

Bassist Duff McKagan has relived his band Loaded, who released "Dark Days" back in 2002 to average reviews and success.

The "Wasted Heart" EP is limited to 7.000 copies worldwide and it was released prior to the bands recent UK tour with a complete album to follow in 2009.

The album is surprisingly mellow and only has one true rock song; album opener Sleaze Factory. The song has a cool verse and infectious chorus. The song is an updated modern rock song, but yet a no bullshit, no compromise Rock song based around the great chorus.

Duff's vocal is great and he sounds a bit like his idol Johnny Thunders. The acoustic title track sound very alike some of Johnny Thunders solo material.

Overall the EP is a slight disappointment. Duff is a great player and his voice might not be the strongest but it has lots of attitude and emotion. The band sounds tight, but the material is mediocre. Several tracks just go nowhere and when you have a rock star in Duff McKagan's caliber you expect more.
