Crimes of Passion - Crimes of Passion
Crimes of Passion is a bunch of survivors. The band was founded on the ashes of Deadline, but with new singer Dale Radcliffe taking over vocal duties from Steve Lunn. In 2003 yours truly saw Deadline twice in concert on the Enuff Z'Nuff UK tour. A quote from that review "First band on the bill was Deadline, who also played in Sheffield. Deadline sounded like an AOR band with an Eddie Van Halen wannabe guitarist, similar to Journey."

In 2006 the band got the opening slot on White Lion's European tour. Crimes of Passion used 2007 to complete the debut album they once again teamed up with White Lion for an extensive European tour.

The self titled debut album is a lot harder than Deadline. Crimes of Passion's debut record is high octane Heavy Rock in your face. Guitarist Andy Lindsay is superb and his crunchy guitars drive this record.

The strength of "Crimes of Passion" is also its weakness. "Crimes of Passion" is a very consistent record but on the other hand no song really stands out. The album is very solid but after hearing the record you cannot mention any songs in particular. Pretty in Blood is the most memorable song, but even that one lacks some in being an earhanger.

All in all it is a good debut album. The band has the right ammunition in a good singer and guitarist. All they need is better songs, but the debut album is a solid foundation to build a reputation in Hard Rock.
