Waysted was formed when bassist Pete Way left his day job
UFO after enjoying huge success in the late seventies. Singer Phil Mogg continued to control the mothership
UFO and Pete Way responded by forming
Waysted.
Waysted is a straight to bone Hard Rock band. "
Waysted plus." was first released in 1984 as a mini album with 6 tracks total. Pete Way had convinced
UFO drummer Andy Parker to join
Waysted as well. "
Waysted plus." is an album full of guitar based Rock music.
Vocalist Fin sounds like cross of Bon Scott and Brian Johnson and he fits the band's simple rock music just perfect.
The Price you Pay is album highlight since its impossible not to tap your toe to the driving beat.
The Krescendo release of the album contains 6 bonus live tracks recorded live at Kerrang Weekend Festival in the UK 1984. The sound quality is bootleg alike, but does give you a good impression of
Waysted's live energy. The band rounds off their performance with a energetic performance of
UFO's
Too Hot to Handle.
Originally released in 1985 "The Good the Bad the
Waysted" followed the
Waysted mini LP with a strong full LP release.
Waysted also spawned same drama as
UFO, so for this record drummer Andy Parker was out, but Pete Way got another
UFO member Paul Chapman on the six-string.
"The Good the Bad the
Waysted"is a display in good time Rock N' Roll. It's raw, rough, has tons of attitude and just great melodies with
Hang Em High and
Land That's Lost Love as album highlights. Paul Chapman fits the band perfectly and
Waysted also varies the song writing -
Manuel is an extended rocker clocking at 6 minutes with an amazing middle play.
Let's get
Waysted again!
