Havana Black - The Family Collection
Remember Havana Black?

The Finnish band has reformed and released the compilation "The Family Collection" to put spotlight on their catalogue.

Havana Black is not a typical 80's Hard Rock band. The band relies on the roots of the seventies being a blues based rock band with tough vocals from Hannu Leiden - the bouncing Hoo Myself sums up what Havana Black is about.

Havana Black's finest moments are on the debut disc "Faceless Days" where the catchy Sheila and rocking Love is a Lie are great representatives of that album.

Overall the quality is lowered a bit on their later releases, but still there is plenty of good time Rock N' Roll to find - Trashtown is a great example and the previously unreleased No Mans Land. Since this CD spans through the entire career of Havana Black it also displays the diversity of the band. Everything from bluesy Hard Rock to pompous Simple Minds rock is included.

"The Family Collection" comes as a double disc with disc 2 being a collection of cover versions emphasizing on Havana Black's love for Southern Rock but also respectable covers of Motorhead and Thin Lizzy.

Havana Black will be touring summer of 2008 including a slot at the prestigious Sweden Rock festival.
