Oh my god, Look what the cat dragged in!! - a new
Poison album. FINALLY!
Doesn't
Poison have any ideas up their sleeve? Not since "Crack a Smile" has
Poison put something decent out. "Crack a Smile" was recorded in 1994 and 1995 and since then
Poison only released one full studio album. "
Poison´d" is a cover album similar to drummer Rikki Rockett´s solo album
"Glitter 4 your Soul" the only difference being that this is full blown
Poison, but Rockett´s album turned out better.
Highlights are Alice Cooper´s acoustic ballad
I Never Cry and remarkably rocking versions of David Bowie's
Suffragette city and Tom Petty´s
I need to know. Can´t you see works great and could easily been on any of
Bret Michaels solo albums. CC Deville sounds best on the
previous released
Squeeze Box and
We´re an American band
Archive this CD under "Nothing but a good time". Artistic wise this is admission of failure, since 5 of the 13 songs have previously been released. Not everything works being
Poison´d and I am sure Rolling Stones fans won't approve
Dead Flowers, which doesn't fit the band at all.
Poison has a loyal and dedicated fan base and
Poison will also continue to get support from me. However it's a clear and invariable demand that the band becomes creative and records a new studio album of
Poison originals.
The band still sound like they are enjoying themselves and despite it's cheap, the performances are quite good.
Poison needs to get back on the rocking horse and play dirty!
