What is your name and your current position in the band?

Edu Falaschi - singer, composer, producer and musician (acoustic guitar).

Tell us about the history of the band. More specifically, when was the band formed, how did you meet, and have there been any particular highlights or low points in your career, any crucial events that have taken you where you are today?

Actually iīm the Angraīs lead singer, and in 2005 I started my solo project, where I could have some good friends to play on it, emmpu from nightwish (guitar), lauri from stratovarius (bass) and casey from kamelot (drums), but I even have a very special guest, mike stone from Queensryche. I met them in different moments. But our friendship is the most important thing! I didnīt have any low point with Almah, only good things, many awards, very good reviews and the people are enjoying it very much.

Was there ever a time when you wondered if your band would remain just a local outfit and never make it in the industry?

To be really honest I did Almah for my own pleasure, I didnīt expect such success. Of course everybody wants that the people, at least, understand your art. But I was so deep in Almah, that only my own satisfaction could be enough for me. But I thank god for this very good moment.

What is your latest album and why should people buy it?

Almah by Edu Falaschi. Because itīs true, powerful and very emotional. Almah is a project where the music is the most important thing and not the musician.

How would you categorize the style of the band? And did you ever consider or try playing other styles of music than the one(s) you are playing now?

Almah is rockīn roll! I like listening to bands like supertramp, tears for fears, tnt, ratt, sepultura, iron maiden, dio, etc. For me there are two kind of music. The one I like and the one I donīt like. Thatīs it.

Can you share with us one or two of your favourite moments with the band?

The guitar recording session in finland. I stayed at emppuīs house for around 10 days, it was so cool, heīs a very nice guy! The other one was when I recorded in brazil, together with a gospel choir. Only with black singers. Great voices, great people and great energy!

How is the writing process in the band?

This time I made everything by myself, but I left everybody free to put their own influences. I start composing in acoustic guitar or piano, and then I record a demo in my home studio, where I play everything, just to show the main ideas, but of course, I just do it in a demo version.

What brought you on the path to becoming a musician? Did you ever consider or take any other paths through life besides music?

When I was very young I almost became a soccer player, but I start playing in a band when I was teenager, and I already liked bands like iron maiden, dio, black sabbath, so I decided that I really would like to be a rock musician, like them. And I recorded an album (vinyl) very soon with my first band called Mitrium, it was in 1993.

Do you have any idols? If yes, who?

I donīt have an idol, but I admire ronny james dio very much as a musician and as a person.

Do you have any regrets looking back at your career? For example any songs or even full albums that you regret recording? If so, what made you regret it?

No!

Are there particular songs in your catalogue that the fans love but you're not particular fond of yourself?

An Angraīs song called "Carry On".

How important do you rate the lyrical side of your albums?

For me itīs very important, thru the lyrics I can express my thoughts. So I always have something, at least, interesting to say. Not only fantasy and fake stories.

What do you think about the state of the music industry today?

Itīs going bad I think. The cd sales are worse because of piracy, internet, ipods, etc. The big companies just imitate the american market, releasing billions of "hip hop bands" and promoting them a lot. Itīs so funny to see different cultures singing this shit, say lyrics that donīt make part of their lives, they sing lyrics that represent the American way of life. Itīs so ridiculous. Can you imagine japanese, german, nordic peolple, singing about their mansions, cars, beautiful women, dollars, guns, mafia, etc. Itīs absurd.

What do you think is the best way to fight music piracy?

Puting the cd price lower. But I think itīs too late, people donīt care anymore, they just want to have an album with one click. Maybe if somebody create a new kind of media that would be impossible to copy.

Do you have a life philosophy? If yes, what is it?

Respect everybody!

Can you describe a typical day in your life?

I wake up, I have breakfast, turn on the computer, see my emails, I start composing or concluding some musical ideas. Lunch, more music. More internet. I get out for some nice dinner with my wife. I see some friends, come back to home and more music and internet and sleep.

What do you like to spend your time with besides music?

I like playing video games.

What's the craziest thing that has ever happened on a tour?

When I played in Equador with Angra. The police exploded some gas bomb outside of the venue, but the smoke came into the stage, and I needed to stop singing, cause it was impossible to sing without air. Everybody was crying and felling bad because of the gas. But we finished the concert, and in the day after, the newspapers were calling us like heroes...hehehe...it was funny.

You're heading off to live on a deserted island for a couple of years with your portable entertainment system... Which albums, movies or books would you bring? (Max. 3 of each)

Albums:
The last in line (dio)
Powerslave (iron maiden)
The best of (tears for fears),

Books:
I would bring empty books, cause I would write my own stories.

Movies
E.T
Forest Gump
Lord of the rings.

What is your favourite joke?

Bush (American president)

Can you tell us about any future plans for you and your band?

I'm composing the next Almah album, and maybe some concerts until the end of 2007, to promote this first album.

Thanks for answering these questions. Now you are free to write a few lines to our readers.

Thank you for this opportunity!!! ;)
