Glorious Bankrobbers - The Glorious sound of Rock NīRoll
In Sweden the Glam and Sleaze scene in Sweden is one again hip and right now the scene is the world's most sparkling.

Lots of new bands squirts out of Sweden and several "older" bands like Nasty Idols and Treat has reformed. Glorious Bankrobbers is the latest band to join the reunion trend and with "The Glorious Sound of Rock NīRoll" they are back to get another piece of the action

Glorious Bankrobbers is rather unknown, so here is a short introduction. The band formed in the mid eighties where they released a rare debut. In 1989 they released "Dynamite Sex Dose", which was a great album but hampered by the production.

Personally I really looked forward to this album and a month prior of receiving this album I dug out my old "Dynamite Sex Dose" CD and it was better than I remembered. Therefore this re-union was quite anticipated and I was very curious to hear what material Glorious Bankrobbers 2007 was able to come up with.

"The Glorious Sound of Rock NīRoll" is mainly re-recordings. The songs have gotten more body than on "Dynamite Sex Dose", but singer Olle Hilleborgīs voice sounds a bit worn out and overall the songs sound a bit flat. However, songs like Dynamite Sex Dose and especially Spitfire cannot be held down. The hair tribute Hairdown is another strong anthem.

Compared to "Dynamite Sex Dose" these songs benefit from better production but lack some nerve and youthful energy. Therefore the reunion is received with a lukewarm feeling - hopefully Glorious Bankrobbers will work on new material and I definitely would go see the band live anytime.
