What is your name and your current position in the band?

I'm Tonazzini Francesco. I play guitars in Shining Fury since last year.

Tell us about the history of the band. More specifically, when was the band formed, how did you meet, and have there been any particular highlights or low points in your career, any crucial events that have taken you where you are today?

The band was formed in 2001 by drummer Ross Lukather in order to create fast and melodic songs. After the release of the debut album "Last Sunrise" as a result of musical divergences Ross decided to change bass and guitar players. After few weeks he found the right people to complete the definitive Shining Fury new Line-up : Francesco Tonazzini (Guitar), Andrea Bartoletti (Bass) and Federico Accardo (Guitar). Last summer Shining Fury entered the FP Recording Studios to record their second strike! New Album "Another Life" will be released on 16th of January by Metalblade Records.

Was there ever a time when you wondered if your band would remain just a local outfit and never make it in the industry?

No. Since I joined the band i focus my work to realizing new album with Shining Fury

What is your latest album and why should people buy it?

Latest album of Shining Fury is "Another Life". People should buy it 'cause is cool....I don't know, If you are looking for fast and melodic songs I think Shining Fury is the best way.

How would you categorize the style of the band? And did you ever consider or try playing other styles of music than the one(s) you are playing now?

The style of Shining Fury is a melodic power metal. I like death melodic stuff very much and I'm going to play it sooner or later. At this time I'm very busy with the promotion of the new album.

Can you share with us one or two of your favourite moments with the band?

My favourite moment with the band is drink beer and talking to each other in a pub after the rehearsals.

How is the writing process in the band?

Sometimes we elaborate a song when we are alltogether and sometimes a member brings some ideas or a complete song and we arrange it together. The first idea is usually a guitar riff.

What brought you on the path to becoming a musician? Did you ever consider or take any other paths through life besides music?

Two years ago I started to study at the university of Music Cinema and Theater...but I get only one exam and then I decided to leave it and concentrate my life only to the music.

Do you have any idols? If yes, who?

Chuck Schuldiner is the Artist that made me love Metal music.

Do you have any regrets looking back at your career? For example any songs or even full albums that you regret recording? If so, what made you regret it?

No. "Another Life" is my first full-length and I'm very appreciative of it.

Are there particular songs in your catalogue that the fans love but you're not particular fond of yourself?

I don't know...I joined the band after the release of the debut album so I don't like very much the old songs. I don't know yet if our fans will love the new ones of "Another Life".

How important do you rate the lyrical side of your albums?

The lyrical side of an album It's very important if you want to throw out an exact message. The lyrics of "Another Life" are quite difficult and hermetic. They are written by the singer Francesco Neretti.


What do you think about the state of the music industry today?

It's not a novelty that the state of the music industry is really sad...

What do you think is the best way to fight music piracy?

The best way to fight music piracy could be bring down cd's prices...but It is quite difficult....

Do you have a life philosophy? If yes, what is it?

Can you describe a typical day in your life?

I work in a car-wash on the weekend. During the rest of the week I generally play guitar. On the evening I like to chill out with my friends or going to the cinema.

What do you like to spend your time with besides music?

I like to spend my time besides music staying with my girlfriend.

What's the craziest thing that has ever happened on a tour?

No Crazy things happened on tour.

You're heading off to live on a deserted island for a couple of years with your portable entertainment system... Which albums, movies or books would you bring? (Max. 3 of each)

Can you tell us about any future plans for you and your band?

We are going to touring and promoting new album. We are also writing new stuff....
