Tyla - As It Was As It Is volume II
Dogs D'Amour main man Tyla is back with second volume of the "As It Was As It Is" series. "As
It Was As It Is volume II" continues where volume 1 left with re-recorded acoustic versions of Dogs D'Amour and solo material. Compared to volume 1 this bunch of songs are lesser known, but provides a deep insight to his impressive catalogue as solo artist and Dogs D'Amour frontman

The brilliant Victim of Succes gives a real insight into how Tyla originally wrote these songs with acoustic guitar only. Mr. Addiction is raw and unpolished. The unpolished and raw vibe is emphasized by the recordings mainly are first takes. There are a few flaws that hasn't been touched up - listen to Billy 2 River, where Tyla makes a mistake by signing "Baby" at the wrong time.

There is a relaxed vibe on the disc and bonfire songs come to mind when hearing this collection of stripped back songs. It is just Tyla with guitar and no bass and drums. However, the addition of piano from long-time cohort Henry Twinch defiantly brings something to the table.

The artwork leaves no doubt who is behind the record. The main target group is Tyla and Dogs D'Amour fans. Personally I have a handful of discs with Tyla and Dogs D'Amour and even though I wasn't familiar with lots of the material I did benefit from the record. However, you have to be in a special frame of mind to be encapsulated in Tyla's dark mood with his dark voice and songs of murder, lies, sex, love, pity and genius.
