PEO - Look What I´ve Started
From the vaults arises a lost record of melodic rock from AXIA frontman Peo Pattersson. Recorded in 89-90, multi-instrumentalist/producer Peo created a record that within the final moments of 80's gloss and glam, was lost in the shuffle, probably due to it's high stance on the musical aspects, rather than what the all too image conscious record industry had in mind, and musically inclined is this record.

Fusing his strength for pop-minded songs with his production sensibility, Look What I've Started is in the vein of Drive She Said, Harem Scarem, Jeff Paris, and Last Autumn's Dream, being more than what some might think would be a possible pitch for other bands to cover this material, but there is no doubt that Peo brings a singer/songwriter approach to hard rock.

He covers all the bases when it comes to the diversity within the material; more rock oreinetd tracks such as "Could this be Love," "Looking for Love," "Two Wheels on Fire," and the homage to LA Metal such as "Day and Night" round up the ability to meld the rock and roll status with more, well top 40 sounding material. Like many songwriters, Ballads are a strongpoint, and Peo can write them, he goes from doing more power related cuts such as "Two Strong Arms" and "Good Soul Companion" to more mainstream pop songs such as "Only One Love" (complete with sax solo) and the instrumental "Amanda" (where he shreds as a guitarist), doing the whole spectrum of the slower material.

So Peo might be hard rock's answer to David Foster, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to the production or writing aspect, it's definably an effort that really could have made a mark in both the metal and pop/rock world at the time of its initial release. To many, Look What I've Started might sound a little dated, the production is thick within the late 80's vein, but yet the songs are catchy and if this type of material is a guilty pleasure, this is one you should not skip out on indulging in.
