Faster Pussycat - Faster Remixes
"Faster Remixes" is a remix album of old Faster Pussycat classics done by Faster Pussycat's Taime Downe leaning up against the style of his NewlyDeads band. How the hell did the other Pussycat members agree on flinging mud at the Faster Pussycat brand, which stands for great sleazy hard rock?
The album contains some of Faster Pussycat's most famous songs in unappealing remixes described as industrial/Goth rock - but it leans more towards techno than industrial/Goth rock and by no means reminds of Sleazy Hard Rock that is Faster Pussycat's trademark.
The few positive things about this album are Bathroom Wall, which kept a raw bass on the verse and still kept a bit of the characteristic riff on the intro. Little Dove is a bit more gothic than techno and overall that is the entire non negative I can say about this waste of time.

The cool cock rock song Smash Alley is destroyed and how can you listen to this with an open mind when the classic riff to the song isn't included in mix at all? It could be any song since the recognizable elements almost vanish from all remixes.

Faster Pussycat's biggest hit House of Pain is an emotional ballad, which has strong lyrics dealing with a very serious topic. The song made me gain new respect for these sleaze rockers, who usually sang about party, drinking and girls. However, the remix has turned the song into a joke. There is no heartfelt emotion to the song and you rather associate this version of the song with getting high on ecstasy and go dancing on an underground Techno club. Uhg!

The party Rocker Cathouse gets out of breath and Where There's a Whip is a short 2 minute instrumental and could be any random programming and NOT the fabulous song from "Wake me When it's over"

I Was Made For Lovin' You is the old Kiss hit, which sounds like Taime Downe brought life to the male singer in Boney M. Blood is the only decent song where you get to rest your ears from the horrible sounds. It's an unreleased demo and Blood displays the REAL Faster Pussycat in an up-dated version. Blood is quite good and the only reason for doubling my original grading of this album.

You go fucking crazy after listening to these sounds that are supposed to be remixes of Faster Pussycat songs. I love Faster Pussycat and their 3 studio albums plus the "Belted, Buckled and Booted EP" are very precious in my collection. However, this is a piece of crap. I don't know whether to cry or not, since I have to slaughter one of my favorite bands, but this CD leaves me no choice since it totally sucks.

A crappy blend of industrial sounds, a spoonful Goth and lots of techno - does that sound appealing or by any means like Faster Pussycat? I think not! Buy the old Faster Pussycat records and avoid this at all cost.
(It's already been out in the states a few years under the name "Between the Valley of the Ultra Pussy")
