Bang Tango - Ready To Go
10 years after the last real album "Love after Death" Bang Tango is back with an album of brand new material. However, singer Joe LeSte is the only remaining member of the "old" Bang Tango.

Bang Tango were one of LA's most successful hard rock bands in the early 90's and their record sales was close to a million units before splitting up.

Bang Tango trademark was the funky bass lines by Kyle Kyle's infectious bass. Bang Tango in the year 2004 is not as funky, but a more stripped back version of Joe LeSte's other band Beautiful Creatures.

The explanation is right ahead, Bang Tango now consist of

Joe Leste -Vocals
Alex Grossi - Lead Guitar
Anthony Focx - Guitar, Background Vocals
Chris Curtis Roach - Bass
Matt Starr - Drums

Expect for Chris Curtis Roach on bass it's the same line-up as the current Beautiful Creatures line-up with Anthony Focx and Leste as only remaining members from Beautiful Creatures' debut album. Anthony Focx has also produced the CD.

Joe Leste and Alex Grossi have written the songs and Alex Grossi surely is a great guitarist. My favorite track on "Ready to Go" is It Ain't Easy with the great instrumental middle play where Grossi shines on the six string. Focx and Grossi are trading solos on the straightforward and charming Roll Me Over, which has a cheerful melodic beat to it.

I think Joe Leste voice is better today and more powerful than in the old Bang Tango days. He has skipped the high notes and these days his voice is much ballsier. I have deep respect for LeSte for keeping Bang Tango alive and singing his heart out on this album. The lyrics to the amazing Love the Life are probably autobiographic.

The songs are guitar driven with the irresistible title track as finest example. Bang Tango has thrown in a few ballads with Rainy Day as the best one since it displays a more mature Bang Tango with acoustic guitar and piano. Another dimension has been added to Love the Life with Dizzy Reed playing organ.

This is a very strong album with very little filler and it keeps growing. Bang Tango sounds very up-to date without losing the band's original integrity and selling out. "Ready to Go" is one of the best surprises this year and it has made my list of 2004's favorite albums. In my opinion the best and most consistent Bang Tango album.

I have to disagree with this review , I miss the way Bang Tango were very funky with some of the greatest bass work ever (Kyle Kyle!!!)......They should have called this Beautiful Creatures and not Bang Tango....It's not that the album is bad it's just not Bang Tango.....If you never have listened to Bang Tango seek and find "Dancing On Coals!!"
