Stillbirth - Trauma (Demo)
Stillbirth hail from Lecco, Italy. This be a demo they sent to us and I got to say these guys are pretty damn good!

As with most demos the sound recording is a little off but this one is actually not too bad. At least you get the idea of like early Kreator albums in the production's sound, and i happen to like those old Noise label band's recordings. Doubt this was intentional on the part of the band but none the less it's like finding an album from back then by a band you didn't know was around in a record shop somewhere.

Ok the band do a different take on death metal than I've ever heard. It's more melodic for one thing but not like Swedish Death melodic. More like thrash melodic and though they call it death metal the vocals are gruff but easily heard and understood in the lyrics.
Actually they do two different vocal styles but both are gruff and heavy.

The songs are really good and the playing is really cool too. They have a very good and inventive drummer and know how to keep things interesting within the songs. Cohesive but not without variations to keep you guessing.

It's bands like this that keep me reviewing demos, cause we get some really crappy demos, but these guys make it worth taking the chance in asking to review the demos we get. You can tell these guys are passionate and work hard at what they do.

Check out these shredders at their own web site.

Demo rating of 666 but a full length of the quality they have would range a rating in the 8-9/10 area.

Good luck guys and keep us posted on your future! Some label should be smart and check these guys out!
