TNT - My Religion
TNT is among the veterans of the Hard rock scene. In 1984 the Norway based band teamed up with American singer Tony Harnell.

After a turbulent career TNT reformed in original line-up and the teaser EP "Give Me A Sign", left the fans expecting a smashing album.

"My Religion" is TNT's new full-length album and it follows the tradition of TNTs earlier work. Tony Harnell's characteristic voice is still the trademark of TNT, but the band's strength is the skilled songwriting, which justifies TNT's place in the music biz.

Overall this is a consistent album with plenty of highlights. The second track She Needs Me is the first example of the classic TNT formula with Ronni Le Tekro' s crunchy guitar all over the song. The rhythm is typical TNT in the vein of Hard To Say Goodbye from "Realized Fantasies".

Give me a sign is an atmosperhic song with a theme riff throughout the whole song. My personal favorite is the ballad Perfectly, which builds up to climax with Harnell and Le Tekro both unfolding their respective talents. Harnell's belts out very emotional vocals and Le Tekro's feel on the guitar makes this a very emotional ballad.

Other highlights include You'll be there, which is another smashing melodic track. The chorus is a real treat for the melodic ear. Everything U R is another personal favorite with a great underlying guitar, which provides the verse with atmosphere. The chorus is another earhanger and the inventive guitar solo has Le Tekro playing some odd tones.

All in all great melodic Hard Rock well performed. A few songs aren't over the top and as convincing as the mentioned. Among them is album opener Invisible Noise, which has AOR tendencies and the rocking title track. Everybody's got secret sounds standard TNT with a happy beat to it. The daring ballad Song 4 Dianne might get to a lot of fans, since its very emotional with female vocals and Middle Ages feel. It doesn't quite capture me, but still a good track and overall the standard of "My Religion" is very high.

"My Religion" shows a growing band adapting to 2004 but still keeping the classic TNT elements, which makes this album among their best. Furthermore Ronni Le Tekro plays some really great guitar solos on the album, which adds another dimension to the songs. "My Religion" won't disappoint any fans of the band or fans of Tony Harnell's unique voice. If you're not familiar with TNT this album will get off to a great start.

I'm surprised at the lack of comments... go to amazon and you'll find close to 100 screaming reviews for this last effort by TNT. In my opinion, aside from all their previous excellent albums, I would say that this is the album that TNT was destined to make. Harnell is healthy, Ronney goes beyond his typical lick that sounds like a pin-ball game gone crazy, and Marty actually shines on bass. This maybe the best TNT effort ever, and one of the best albums for 2004. You'll hear elements of Realized Fantasies, up through Firefly. The production is top notch! Amazing job TNT! 10/10

Well I regard this as a good album and all, but nothing that amazing.

It may not be the epic filetmonmetal, but it's damned tasty bubble gum rock. Love it!

Harnell is a vocal god!....I love this album , This band is just as tallented as Dream Theater but they keep the songs short & sweet not to progressive , & usually I go for the progressive but TNT & Steelheart are the only bands to pull this style off masterfull.....10/10

This is an album I love! Tony Harnell's vocals are top notch as always (As I'm commenting I'm listening to Starbreaker's new disc "Loves Dying Wish" Harnell is a vocal god) TNT with Harnell to me is pure magic and this album is a return to classic form with a hint of a modernized sound. This album for me is a "Masterpiece" for I still listen to it on a modern day basis. 10/10

One of my favourite albums ever and one of the best efforts that TNT have ever released. Huge choruses, tight production, excellent guitar work and a 'fat' production make this album a must have for every melodic hard rock fan out there!!!!!!!!
