Monday, May 30, 2005 - ProgPower Festival - The UK Edition
The ProgPower organisation has expanded and will be launching a UK edition in 2006!

Catering for the growing army of Progressive and Power metal fans in the UK, and taking it's cue from the successful ProgPower Europe and ProgPower USA festivals, fans will know what to expect from ProgPower UK in terms of bands and organisation.

Headlining this first year will be Therion, with Threshold, Freedom Call, Orphaned Land and Firewind also confirmed. Two more bands are still to be announced to complete a one-day, seven band lineup.

The first indoor show is confirmed for Saturday 25th March 2006 - timed to offer something early in the year to avoid the crush of summer festivals.

The venue is stunning. 'The Centaur', a brand new, state-of-the-art prestigious indoor arena, completed less than eighteen months ago, with incredible facilities, and 12000 free car parking spaces. Located at the world-famous Cheltenham Racecourse in central UK, this will be the perfect setting for the festival.

Other highlights include: Giant video screens, a Metal Market, 'Platinum Passes' with exclusive festival benefits for the first one hundred tickets sold, and an exclusive ProgPower UK sampler CD free on the door to all ticket holders.

In line with ProgPower worldwide, the UK arm of ProgPower is also run by fans and musicians. No corporate agenda here! The team firmly intends that the festival becomes the highlight of the UK Progressive and Power Metal calendar every March. The venue has massive potential, with sufficient capacity and flexibility to allow the festival to grow year on year - The sky's the limit!
