Borealis - Fall From Grace
Tuesday, June 21, 2011
STEEN where are ya??
You've got 2 potential albums of 2011 out and neither one is mentioned on your site

the mighty Symphony X returns with ICONOCLAST
and right on their heels Suncaged has released the LOTUS EFFECT

Borealis - Fall From Grace
Tuesday, June 21, 2011
Make that Albums of the year , just to clarify

Evergrey - Glorious Collision
Monday, April 11, 2011
Unfortunately, the Bands DNA being altered, this albums lacks the intensity and musical chops of earlier works, however,Tom Englund still very passionate and carrying the band literally on his shoulders.

Star One - Victims Of The Modern Age
Tuesday, November 23, 2010
Another obscure Gem that alot of people probably never heard of is a band named SECTION A
They also have 3 albums to date
"the Seventh Sign"
"Parallel Lives"
"Sacrifice"
The first two albums are spectacular, maybe I am biased against Sacrifice because the other 2 albums raised the bar so high, anyways you can get their albums on itunes or amazon

Northern Kings - Reborn
Friday, October 2, 2009
downloading now... Hope it is better than the last few albums you've reviewed :>)

Anubis Gate - The Detached
Friday, September 25, 2009
I liked this release so much decided to buy the rest of the bands CD's.
Now that I have listened to them I have to say these guys rank right up there with the likes of Evergrey and Symphony X. All the albums have great melodic moments... I am totally hooked.

Lost Horizon - A flame to the ground beneath
Tuesday, June 23, 2009
yes, somehow this album slipped by and I am just now listening to it...
great stuff indeed, however, with bands like Evergrey and Symphony X ,didn't blow me away as much as I thought after reading Steen's review.

Rating: 8/10

Dream Theater - Black Clouds And Silver Linings
Tuesday, June 23, 2009
With each Dream Theater release,I grow more tired of them. You would think with all of the band members mastery of their respective instruments and Labrie at the helm, everything they release would be a masterpiece, but I am afraid it just isn't so. With all of their technical prowess, especially Petrucci's blistering guitar work,I always come away empty,I need passionate melody, soul if you will.I just don't think they deliver the goods anymore, more so than ever since Jordan Rudess replaced Derek on keys. Flame all you want die hards, but this is my opinion.
Rating: 6.5/10

Saga - The Human Condition
Tuesday, June 23, 2009
Hard time at school? I'm 47
Brian let me enlighten you,Saga is a progressive rock ICON.
4/10 is Absolute Blasphemy.
My least favorite album by them:Pleasure and Pain would still fare better than your pathetic rating.I call it like I see it,I don't care what you think or say, understand?

Coldspell - Infinite Stargaze
Tuesday, June 23, 2009
Alanna,
Nice to see you gave the disc a spin.
I have to say that especially for a debut, is damn good.
Looking forward to another album for sure.

Rating: 7.5/10

Evergrey - Recreation Day
Wednesday, June 10, 2009
Evergrey has quickly become one of my favorite bands.Thx to Tommy for a great review!

Rating: 9/10

Sunstorm - House of Dreams
Monday, May 18, 2009
I was a little put off with this release, given the pedigree thought it would be a memorable album from reading Allana's thought provoking review.
Turner is certainly one of the better vocalists in the genre, and the guitar playing on most of the songs was competent, but the songs themselves lacked any real memorable hooks/melodies that would make me come back for repeat listening.

Rating: 6/10

Saga - The Human Condition
Sunday, May 17, 2009
Hey Brian
Pull your head out of your ass...
4/10??????????????????
Hate to break it to you pal, this is one of the best Saga albums I have heard in some years, yes,I have their entire catalog.
And yes, your review shows yet again, what a dumb ass you are

Place Vendome - Streets of Fire
Sunday, May 17, 2009
As usual Alanna...you are spot on .

Bad Habit - Above And Beyond
Sunday, May 17, 2009
