Latest news
Sunday, January 2, 2005 - Outworld signs with Replica Records. | Texas power metal band Outworld has signed a deal with French record label Replica Records (formerly NTS Records) for the worldwide release of their upcoming debut full length album Outworld. The album will be recorded at the beginning of 2005, and were currently aiming at a release in the late spring.
Outworld features guitar-wiz Rusty Cooley, who has successfully established himself as a solo artist (with one album out on Lion Music, as well as appearances withs Book Of Reflection and tributes to Shawn Lane and Jason Becker). Also in the ranks of Outworld youll find the talented Kelly Sundown Carpenter, who recently laid down the vocals for the upcoming second album by Scandinavian cinematic metal band Beyond Twilight. The rest of Outworld is comprised of keyboardist Bobby Williamson, drummer Darren Davis and bass player Shawn Kascak.
Musically, Outworld is guitar based metal with a focus on great melodies, strong vocals, lots of guitar/keyboard shredding and a powerful rhythmic foundation. Closest comparisons would be Symphony X, Dream Theater, Malmsteen or even Pantera. Outworld fits right in with the rest of the Replica Records roster, which features such acts as Patrik Rondat, Adagio, Angra, Freak Kitchen, Sonata Arctica and Manticora (some of these titles are worldwide, others for France alone).
Following completion of the album, Replica Records in conjunction with Intromental Management, will start the search for suitable partners outside of Europe.
The cover artwork was created by acclaimed artist Mattias Norén, and can be found at the Intromental site here.
