Sunday, July 19, 2009 - Archetype album news | News from Archetype:
After the long silence we finally have some information to reveal to everyone. Over the last few months we have been hard at work recording the new album. The album is being produced by Curran Murphy at Smiley Sounds studios. Curran has worked with such bands like Nevermore and Annihilator as well as his newest band Shatter Messiah. He is truely a great guy to record with and has done an excellent job recording us.
The recordings are basically done and Curran will be starting the mix on the album in the next week or two as we just have to do some little bits here and there recordingwise. So far the production has turned out to be amazing and we will be shopping material very soon. We hope to have the album finished in the next month (Finally!). We will reveal more details on the tracklisting and album title when we confirm everything!
Until then, metal on!

Monday, August 15, 2005 - Archetype find new singer | Latest news from Archetype:
After searching for months on end we finally found our new singer, his name is Tony Webster. Tony has been a part of many bands in the Cleveland area, most notably Mo Rage. His singing style fits the band perfectly and we are all very anxious to get things back on track. We are currently recording our new CD and we have been making a ton of progress in the last month. The vibe and chemistry in the band has never been better! We have ten new songs written and are quickly adding the vocal parts. So far most of the drums and bass have been recorded and we will start guitars and vocals soon. When the first new track is complete we're going to make it available as an MP3. Guitarist Chris Matyus "With Tony on vocals the outlook of the band is at an all time high! We've never been more focused on our music and our progress."
Archetype was officially formed in the summer of 1997 by Chris Matyus, Keith Zeigler and Jamie Still. After a year of playing instrumentally, the band recorded the 4 song instrumental demo "Archetype" in the fall of 1998. With the addition of Greg Wagner on vocals, the band released the four song EP "Hands Of Time" in early 1999. Later that year they began recording their first full length CD "Dawning". After completion in the spring of 2000, the band realized the recording was not professional enough and would have to be re-recorded. Most of 2001 was spent on the new version of the CD and in February of 2002, Archetype released "Dawning" which was greeted with much praise from around the world. Later that year, the band signed a deal with Lucretia records in Italy and the CD was re-released in Europe in early 2003. In July 2003, Greg Wagner left the band and in 2004 Archetype signed a new deal with LMP records in Germany for the world-wide release of "Dawning".
With the success of Dawning's worldwide release, the band had been searching for the missing piece to their puzzle, a new lead singer. After searching for many months, Archetype finally found a vocalist who fits the band perfectly, his name is Tony Webster. A veteran in many Cleveland bands, Tony's talents will join those of the current Archetype lineup as they record their new CD. The new material is taking Archetype down a different path than before. With a much heavier and more powerful approach and with maintaining the band's originality, Archetype is poised for many great things in the future.

Tuesday, August 10, 2004 - Archetype announce new singer | The band would like to officially welcome vocalist Les Paul (no, not the guitar legend) to the lineup! We have auditioned many vocalists in the last year or so and it wasn't until Les put a message on our board and came to audition that we realized he was the one! His overall style and ability make him the perfect final piece to the Archetype puzzle! To find a vocalist and guitarist who express an overwhelming commitment to the band is pretty much unreal for us. Not to mention we came in contact with both of them within one week Things are definitely looking up for Archetype so look for the band to make a big impact in the very near future!!

Tuesday, July 27, 2004 - News from Archetype | The band would like to officially welcome guitarist Stacey Donahue to the lineup! Since we've never really had a permanent second lead guitarist, it's a great pleasure to finally have what we have been missing for years. We had all but given up trying to find a guitarist who was in to the progressive/power metal genre and who would be 100% commited to Archetype. Seemingly out of nowhere we received an email from Stacey expressing total interest in joining. It only took one phone call to realize he would be a perfect fit. We are holding off on recording for now to allow Stacey time to learn all the new material. It won't be long before we are in the studio and back on stage!

Monday, June 23, 2003 - Archetype is looking for a new vocalist | Archetype is looking for a new vocalist. Here is the official statement:
We have recently started recording our new material which is much heavier and quite different than Dawning and we need a more modern sounding vocalist. We don't want a screamer or a clone of any kind; we need someone with a powerful, unique voice and a good range. We're willing to audition any quality vocalists as long as you are professional, not an addict of any kind, are able to work with others and can possibly relocate to Cleveland or are willing to travel for rehearsals, etc. We need a permanent member, not a hired gun. Demos are preferred and we have rough mixes of our new material. Any leads will be greatly appreciated and we can guarantee that our new material with the right vocalist will go very far!
