Invocator - Through The Flesh To The Soul
Invocator bring with them years of Thrash metal ability and knowledge. They started way back in the late 1980's and by 1991 they had made their first full length album. Now after a seven year gap between their last offering, 1995's "Dying To Live", they have recorded and released a surefire hit within the overcrowded Thrash scene entitled "Through The Flesh To The Soul".

Top notch production and seriously sick playing make this album one to skip paying a utility bill and taking that cash to your local record store for a quick purchase! haha.

Melodic yet brutal/clean vocals by super talented throat/guitarist Jacob Hansen and blistering lead guitar work by Flemming C. Lund float nicely over the rhythm section of Carsten Mikkelsen(Bass) and Jakob Gundel(Drums).

Don't let their short haired almost Blink 182 looks fool you. This is some very extreme metal.
What is nice though is the almost Power Metal styled choruses in a few of the songs. Songs like "Writhe In Spit" and "There Is No Saviour" are good examples of this Power quotient. They pull off thrash much like Exodus, Overkill, Helstar and PowerMad did back in the day. Throw in a little more modern extreme metal heaviness ala The Haunted and Dew Scented with taste of Sweden's finest In Flames and Soilwork and you have a metal that kills as well as entertains by giving you some hooks to remember and sing along with.

You get fast songs and mid paced songs and sometimes a little slow doominess here and there but it is always heavy with a capitol HEAVY!

IF you want to hear what I'm talking about there are some samples on the web site at www.invocator.com and tons of info on their older albums as well as nice time line biography about them.

Cheers to Invocator for bringing some old school to the new school!
