| Monday, January 17, 2005 - Arcturus news | Norway's Arcturus, now featuring Dimmu Borgir bassist Simen Hestnaes (a.k.a. ICS Vortex, ex-BORKNAGAR, LAMENTED SOULS) on lead vocals, have inked a deal with Season Of Mist. The group's new studio album is scheduled for release in August, to be followed by a European tour.
In other news, Arcturus have been confirmed to appear at the By:Larm music conference/festival on February 11 in Stavanger, Norway. By:Larm is a three-day conference for music industry professionals, featuring seminars and over 80 concerts. This year's best live act will win a prize of NOK 100,000 (approximately $16,000).
Hestnaes' first appearance back with Arcturus will take place at the Inferno Festival kick-off event at the Underworld in London on January 27.
Hestnaes had previously performed vocals on three tracks and written the lyrics for one song on Arcturus' 1997 album, "La Masquerade Infernale".
