| Sunday, December 7, 2003 - Jon Oliva solo project | Jon Oliva, founder member and mastermind of Savatage, has embarked on a new adventure. Jon has been writing material for a solo album for several years and has now begun the process of bringing that music to life. Jon has recruited the former members of CircleIICircle to peform a series of concerts showcasing his new solo material as well as classic Savatage material. Some of that Sava-material has never been performed live on stage, so this will be a real treat for Sava-fans everywhere. Jon's voice is in excellent shape and he is handling all the lead vocal duties at these shows. The response from the fans at these first shows has been nothing short of incredible. Some will remember Jon debuting some of his new material at the Criss Oliva Memorial Concert back in October. Jon is also toying with the idea of taking this show on the road in the US and possibly overseas. It is likely that the band (Matt Laporte-guitar, Kevin Rothney-bass, Christopher Kinder-drums, and John Zahner-Keyboards) will return to the studio with Jon to record more tracks for this solo project. Sorry, but there is no information available on a possible release date. Check the website for updates !!
