Monday, July 7, 2003 - A bit of Dream Theater news
Dream Theater leader Mike Portnoy chatted with BW&BK before the band's headlining set in Montreal on July 5th, and confirmed the following details about the band's new album due out in the fall via Elektra Records.

"I can only tell you vague things about the new album. We're done writing the music, and as soon as this tour (note: with Queensryche and Fates Warning) is over, we're going to go in and do the vocals. We're trying to write a classic metal album. On the last tour, we covered entire albums by Metallica (Master Of Puppets) and Iron Maiden (Number Of The Beast). We were inspired by that, and we want every song on the new record to be strong."
