Monday, October 13, 2008 - Nightwish - 'Anette Is Already 100% Recovered' | After weeks of speculation which saw the final four dates of the American tour wiped away, followed by the cancellation of their Moscow debut, Nightwish management has expounded on the situation exclusively to BW&BK, thanking fans for their sympathy, well wishes and support. "Anette is already 100% recovered. She was performing with PAIN (Peter Tägtgren, also of Hypocrisy) here in Helsinki at Tavastia Club last Thursday (Oct. 9th)... a killer show!" While the Moscow and Porte Alegre, Brazil fiascos were attributed to the promoters failing to meet provisions in the contract, some cynics wondered aloud whether this was merely a smokescreen for Anette Olzon's continued recuperation. "The Russian cancellation had nothing to do with her," reassures the Nightwish camp. "We can't just go to Russia if we're uncertain we'll get paid. 23 persons, a truckload of gear and pyrotechnics, you can only guess how much (money) we still lost... flights, visas and at least a week of office work, for fuckin' nothing!"
Nightwish closes out the 2008 touring cycle with a string of South American shows, including 10 in Brazil, before heading home for an extended holiday season. The band will take some well warranted time off until the start of a month long European tour, beginning in March.
