Sunday, June 15, 2008 - Avantasia update
Message from Tobias Sammet:

Avantasia have just finished their show in Tokyo and Tobias has checked in from the hotel room: "How are you folks? I feel like being drunk although I am not, there was just an earthquake a few seconds ago and I am on the 21st floor of a hotel tower, it scared the shit out of me, the tower was swinging back and forth like a pendulum. Wow! Anyway, I am still alive and I guess people here got used to it. So, we have played four shows with Avantasia now and we seem to get better and better. Sweden Rock was a blast, more than 30.000 people going crazy. Switzerland, Russia and Japan were great too, it's such a unique experience to play with all those musicians I had never played with before. It's a pretty great constellation and we have a lot of fun on the road. Last night we played over two hours, adding songs like "No return" and "Inside" to our regular set. I'll be off to Mexico now, we play Mexico City tomorrow. It's weird, three days ago we played Europe, a few hours ago we played Asia and in a few hours I'll cross the date line to fly to Mexico. Crossing the date line means, I'll leave Asia in the evening and arrive in San Francisco in the morning of the same day. If you do that a few thousand times you look like a baby. Thanx Japan, thanx Sweden, Switzerland, Russia. And now I am looking forward to Mexico City.

See ya, Tobi
