Tuesday, January 21, 2003 - Falconer split with singer and announce replacement | Swedish melodic power metallers Falconer have parted ways with vocalist Mathias Blad and have replaced him with Destiny frontman Kristoffer Göbel. According to the band's official web site, Kristoffer is "not a Mathias wannabe but [has] his own style, which also gives the band a chance to evolve." Blad, who left the band due to his unwillingness to tour, will remain involved with the group and will appear as backing vocalist on future Falconer recordings.
Falconer, who recently added guitarist Anders Johansson and bassist Peder Johansson to the group's lineup, will record the follow-up to last year's "Chapters From A Vale Forlorn" in May at Andy La Rocque's (KING DIAMOND) Los Angered Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden for a late 2003 release through Metal Blade Records. "This time, it will be a concept album, but fear not dear fans, it will not be one of those weird [hard-to-listen-to] concept albums," the band promise. "The music is mostly as it has been but with one lyrical story throughout the whole album."
