Wednesday, August 23, 2006 - No new Demons and Wizards album until 2009-2010
Not exactly what fans of the collaboration between the Blind Guardian frontman and Iced Earth guitarist/head honcho, John Schaffer wanted to hear, but the planets won't align anytime soon. "I spoke with Jon a few weeks ago and he was (in Florida) with Jim Morris, setting up the studio for the next Iced Earth production. He's working hard on that stuff, trying to do two albums at the same time, for Iced Earth. That's his main priority. I will be on the road the next 12 to 18 months, with Blind Guardian. We still have the orchestral (BG) project on the agenda and that will definitely come before the next Demons & Wizards album. We both want to do another, but there's no chance before 2009, 2010! We need the time to put our noses together, be focused and ambitious. Even though it's kind of a side-project, the golden rule still fits: the third one will make it or break it. It's a shame, but we had (live shows) in mind for America, but I was in a hurry for Blind Guardian, so we skipped that. We did the video for 'Terror Train', but once I was in the studio, it was obvious we wouldn't be able to do any Demons & Wizards tour. It's not all that bad, because when we do a third one, there will be so much material, we can easily do headlining shows."
