Wednesday, January 14, 2004 - Jani Lane of Warrant pursues solo career | As of January 9, 2004, Jani Lane, front-man for the band Warrant, has left Warrant to pursue his solo projects. "This comes to us as no surprise," states Jerry Dixon, bass player and founding member. "We always figured someday he would want to go after a solo career and today is that day." It's been more than a decade, since Warrant erupted onto the national scene in 1989. Warrants worldwide album sales approach the ten million mark, and they have a laundry list of Top 40 hit-singles that include "Cherry Pie," "Heaven," "Down Boys," "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and "Sometimes She Cries."
The remaining members will continue to compose, play and tour. "We wish him the very best in all aspects of his life," says Erik Turner the founding member of Warrant. "The band is very excited about new possibilities and some fresh blood. Maybe even a new record."
We wish Jani Lane all the best and look forward with much excitement of a new and improved Warrant in 2004." · Discuss this news further (0) |
