Wednesday, February 3, 2010 - Shadow Gallery Video For 'Gold Dust' Online | News from Shadow Gallery:
American progressive metal giants Shadow Gallery are premiering their new video for "Gold Dust" (in its radio edit version) today on the InsideOut Music Youtube channel.
The song comes from their new album Digital Ghosts, released October 26th, 2009 via InsideOutMusic in Europe, which features the line-up of Brendt Allman, Carl Cadden-James, Gary Wehrkamp, Joe Nevolo and new addition Brian Ashland. The album shows the group focuse their powerful energies on creating a seamless blend of progressive, metal, and symphonic rock. The clip includes both live and location footage and features a cameo by Will Smith Sr. father of movie actor Will Smith. The video, which was filmed by Rick Berk and directed by Shadow Gallery bassist Carl Cadden-James, marked an ambitious step into exciting uncharted waters for the band and can be viewed here.
"We are very excited about having done this and are genuinely pleased with the results. We were surrounded by extremely talented people during production and had a blast doing it", states Cadden-James. "The song 'Gold Dust' was the perfect vehicle for our first video and I think it's nice to be able to introduce Brian as a vocalist visually beyond his vocal performance on the CD".
The lyrical story is played out by model Heather Anthony and displays a very human side of the band that explores the emotional complexities of both desire and heartache and should resonate with almost anyone who has ever loved. Shadow Gallery has transitioned very comfortably from just an aural experience to the visual artistic expression that their music is so well suited.
This news comes on top of their announcement that Shadow Gallery will be performing live in concert on the 2010 Triton Power Cruise. It will be the first live performance for the band, where they will join the stage with Evergrey, Jon Oliva's Pain and many more from April 30th - May 3rd, 2010. You can check out more information on the cruise here.

Tuesday, October 13, 2009 - Shadow Gallery - New song online | Shadow Gallery have posted the new song "Gold Dust" on their official MySpace.
Shadow Gallery's Brendt Allman comments the song as follows: "'Gold Dust' is one of the first songs that I started writing for this new record. I just loved the D/ B flat/ E progression used in the chorus, then I just built the other parts around that. I knew that it could be a strong chorus and it turned out to be one of the best on the record. I particularly love the simplicity of the chord changes in the second half of the song, riding one note on the guitar in machine gun fashion while having pretty chord changes over the top of it. I love the fact that there are 4 lead vocalists on that section as well."
Next to the regular CD and Digital Download version of Digital Ghosts, which introduces new lead singer Brian Ashland, there will also be a very special limited edition digipak released in Europe with expanded and slightly modified artwork as well as 4 special bonus tracks *:
'With Honor' 'Venom' 'Pain' 'Gold Dust' 'Strong' 'Digital Ghost' 'Haunted' 'Two Shadows' * 'Gold Dust' (Demo) * 'In Your Window' * 'World Of Fantasy' (Demo) *
'Two Shadows' is a partly upgraded version of the Japan bonus track from the previous album Room V, featuring vocals by former vocalist Mike Baker, who tragically passed away in October 2008. 'Gold Dust' (Demo) features vocals by Carl-Cadden James, 'In Your Window' is an acapella version of vocal harmonies of the album song 'Digital Ghost' and 'World Of Fantasy' (Demo) is a non-album song, also featuring vocals by Mike Baker. · Discuss this news further (0) |

It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Shadow Gallery vocalist, Michael A. Baker. Mike suffered a heart attack, Wednesday afternoon, October 29th, 2008. He was 45 years old. Mike was a founding member of Shadow Gallery and for the past 16 years, helped shape the sound of the band with his magical voice. Additionally, he made many appearances on rock records around the world. Those who knew him best were moved by his gentle spirit, sincere kindness, fun nature and passion for both music and sports. He was a warrior in the studio, a true professional. Mike was our friend, our singer and our brother. We loved him and will miss him enormously, but he will always be remembered in our hearts and through his music.
At this time we are setting up a condolence book on the Shadow Gallery Band website that you will be able to leave a message. · Discuss this news further (2) |
