Thursday, April 22, 2010 - Arch Enemy Postpone UK Tour
Melodic death metallers Arch Enemy have been the latest group to suffer at that hands of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano which has been causing air travel chaos in Europe.

Due to the volcanic erruption which caused a ban on all air traffic into and out of the UK, the band have been forced to move the UK headline tour with Sabbat and Enslaved back to November.

The group have released the following press statement:

"Sorry to all our great U.K. fans, but the tour we had scheduled for next week has unfortunately been postponed 'till November 2010.

As we all know, it's been a tough time in Europe with the volcanic ash shutting down airspace in 23 countries and causing travel misery for millions of people. One minute airports are open - the next they are not.

We are determined to make these shows work, but don't want to disappoint our fans, so it has been mutually agreed upon that the best way forward is to postpone the U.K. dates 'till November.

We'd like to thank all of the promoters who took on the shows, and also the support bands - everything was shaping up very nicely and their professionalism is obvious. We appreciate their willingness to make these shows happen later in 2010 and we're more eager than ever to do so.

It's important to make it clear that this is not a cancellation - we just have to move the tour to a different time.

Sorry, again, to all who planned to attend. Hope to see you in November!"

The rescheduled dates will take place on:

Nov. 23 - Manchester, UK @ Academy 2
Nov. 24 - Glasgow, UK @ Garage
Nov. 25 - Wolverhampton, UK @ Wulfrun Hall
Nov. 27 - London, UK @ The Forum

Sunday, July 1, 2007 - Arch Enemy news
Arch Enemy are pleased to announce they have completed work on their highly anticipated new album. The new masterpiece entitled "RISE OF THE TYRANT" was recorded at Studio Fredman with Producer Fredrik Nordström and will be unleashed on the metal world on September 24th, 2007.

Arch Enemy mastermind Michael Amott comments on the new album and the upcoming touring activities as follows:

"To all ARCH ENEMY fans!

So how does it sound, you ask? Well, I am of the opinion that we have made the 'ultimate ARCH ENEMY album'!!! To me, this album sounds like the perfect mix of melody and brutality. This album is a an organic and honest statement from the band - it's pure f**king metal at its absolute best, the ARCH ENEMY way!

Producer Fredrik Nordström did a killer mix on the record - the sound is big and intense! This album has everything that ARCH ENEMY represents in my mind. I can't wait to release it and play these songs live for you, the fans!"

Actually, we have to start rehearsing at some point this summer. We will be playing a couple of festivals in the U.K. ('Bloodstock') and Germany ('Up From The Ground'). These will be the first shows with my brother Christopher (Amott - Guitar) back in the band! We also have to work out how to play these new songs so we will have a very busy summer with ARCH ENEMY, that's for certain!

The touring plan for ARCH ENEMY will start full on after the summer, and we can confirm we will joining the European "Black Crusade" tour package with Machine Head, Trivium, Dragonforce and Shadows Fall - yeah, that's a pretty impressive tour, huh? Equally exciting for us is the Australian "Black Crusade" tour which we will be doing with Trivium and Machine Head.

Lot's of other cool touring ideas are flying around at the moment - looks like we also might be visiting places on this planet where ARCH ENEMY has not yet had the pleasure of playing...... That's what it's all about!

Let the madness begin."

Wednesday, May 16, 2007 - Arch Enemy - Angela Gossow offers update from the studio
Studio update from Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy:

Hells yeah, I am done with my vocals!

I recorded 14 songs in total, faster then ever.
Plenty of first takes there, hardly any double vocals, just straight up into the microphone. I experimented quite a bit with doubling vocal lines on the last album, which I now feel kind of took personality and vocal attack away. So this time it's the classic, one vocal track, no frills, no effects approach.

I put a lot of work and emotions into the lyrics, some of them actually made me cry, most of them made me very, very angry. They deal with the pain and losses we cause each other. To balance these gloomy themes out, we managed to write some lyrics in the vein of 'We Will Rise' - you know, FIGHT songs! There is not only suffering and injustice in this world, but also hope, love and friendship.

Nevertheless, this album will crush you and the vocals are mean all the way. No whining and no wailing. Some song titles; 'Blood Is On Your Hands', 'Vultures' and 'In This Shallow Grave'.

I enjoyed recording at the new Studio Fredman in the village of Hyssna.
Fredrik (Nordström, producer) managed to set me a killer vocal sound, but Michael tracked and produced all my vocals. I recorded in the evenings and late at night, when the guys were done with their instrumental parts.

Special thanks go to Fredrik for lending me a car these days! On my time off I was cruising through the backwoods of 'Västra Götaland' which is very beautiful, but also very empty part of Sweden indeed...

We will start mixing the album very soon. Niklas Sundin (Cabin Fever Media) is working on very cool artwork for this album. I believe we have also agreed on the album title. More news about all this later...

Pure fucking metal,

Angela

Monday, March 26, 2007 - Christopher Amott returns to Arch Enemy
ARCH ENEMY are pleased to be able to announce the return of original guitarist Christopher Amott. The band, having finished an intense 18-month touring cycle all over the world promoting the Doomsday Machine album and Live Apocalypse DVD, are currently busy working on songs for their new studio album.

Christopher surprised many by departing ARCH ENEMY at the end of the Doomsday Machine recording sessions in 2005, having been in the band for 10 years (starting with ARCH ENEMY at age 18). Christopher followed his urges to see the world and find what else is out there apart from music. Having done that, the time is now right for him to return to the fold with a newly injected desire and focus and to resume his career.

Christopher states, "This is very exciting for me, returning to Arch Enemy as a fulltime member! Right now we are working on our forthcoming album, and I'm very pleased about the way it's turning out. The new songs are fast and furious with lots of melody! To all the people who sent me kind messages while I was out of the band, thank you for your support; it helped me a lot. After this (much needed) two-year break, I'm looking forward to getting back on the road. I hope to see you all later this year!"

ARCH ENEMY mastermind Michael Amott compliments his younger brother Christopher perfectly in style and chemistry, and together they have become one of the most infamous and ripping guitar teams in extreme metal. Michael comments, "So, we are back with my brother Christopher on guitar - it's a huge rush to have him back playing in his signature style! He's jumped in at the end of the songwriting process for the new album and added some of his unique spice. I feel Christopher's playing has matured and is more precise and even faster than before! Guitar fans are going to freak out at the stuff we're up to on the new album!"

The last two years have been the busiest and most successful touring campaign of ARCH ENEMY's entire career, so many fans both old and especially new can now look forward to witnessing Christopher's return to the stages of the world. In regards to Fredrik Åkesson, the Swedish guitar-wizard who has been touring with ARCH ENEMY for 18 months and who can be seen on the band's latest video clip for the song "My Apocalypse," Michael comments, "I want to add that we are eternally grateful to Fredrik, who did an outstanding job with us over the past 18 months while we dragged the Doomsday Machine around the world a couple of times - YOU ARE FUCKING AWESOME!"

ARCH ENEMY have spent recent weeks locked in intense rehearsals at their homebase in Halmstad, Sweden, putting the final touches on their new material and integrating Christopher into the new songs for the forthcoming studio album. More news on this will follow shortly, so stay tuned.

Tuesday, April 12, 2005 - Arch Enemy news
An update from Arch Enemy:

Greetings Arch Enemy friends!

As the long and cold Swedish winter has slowly lost its icy grip on our country here up in the north, the sun has been shining and it has been an unusually couple of warm weeks here.the spring is finally here! A cause for celebration I think! Bring me a glass of wine!

That said, we've had no time to enjoy the pleasant change of weather - as we have been locked away in the studio.recording the new Arch Enemyalbum!

Yes, as you know - we are finally in the studio with Arch Enemyto record the follow up to 2003's "ANTHEMS OF REBELLION" and I am happy to report that everything is going very, very well.

We are working at Slaughterhouse studio in Halmstad, Sweden with Rickard Bengtsson (Producer and engineer).so the studio is close and we can live at home and still record this album - which is great!
As usual, we need someone with a critical pair of ears recording us and Rickard Bengtsson is making us work hard at making the ULTIMATE METAL ALBUM! Our poor little musician fingers are bleeding! HA!

We started off with recording drums (logically - duh!) - and WOW, they sound totally amazing! Daniel really excelled himself - once again! When you think he must be peaking, the guy just keeps getting better and better, we are all quite amazed by his performance on these new songs! The grooves of these new tracks are catchy and powerful as hell, really making the songs come alive. The superb drumming skills of Daniel Erlandsson - A big part of the Arch Enemysound for sure.

We are now nearing the end of one of the long hard roads.the epic saga of recording rhythm guitars on an Arch Enemyalbum! Recording all the riffs super tight and making it sound really punchy and 100% awesome is a long process, but we are almost there now, and we have some amazing riffs on this new album.oh yes.
Maybe the fact that we are all jumping around the studio, headbanging, playing air guitar/drums is a good sign?? Let's hope so, eh!?

I do feel that we are capturing some of that old metal magic here. You know, back in the day when bands would spit out one classic riff after the other - with such incredible ease and flair! Sometimes I think that the KILLER hardrock/metal riff is in danger of dying. But we are doing out best here to revitalize it!!! Wooohoooo..

(As for the subject of the seemingly long lost art of the QUALITY guitar solo - don't get me started on that one.).

Ok, that is it..back to work. Check out the new pictures for now, and we'll be back with more updates soon.

METAL ON METAL .

Michael Amott
