Lita Ford - Greatest Hits Live
You can easily tell that this concert was recorded in a club lacking an optimal sound quality. However, what's missing in sound quality is up-weighted by the tight and full sound from the band. The band consists of 2 guitar players beside Lita Ford herself. Furthermore David Ezrin is playing keyboards, Phil Chen handling the Bass and Jimmy DeGrasso is on drums.

The album opens with an unreleased studio track entitled Nobody's Child. It's almost been 10 years since Lita's last studio album and I think this song was recorded back then. The song is following the tradition of her other songs. Nobody's Child has a great theme guitar riff and a melodic chorus with Lita's characteristic voice in the center.

Even though not stated, this live recording is from the "Dangerous Curves" tour. Lita Ford is sounding great with her voice dominating the mix. The band is providing some full backing vocals for Lita's voice. Listen to the great rocker What Do You know about Love or the vocal harmonies on the intro to Holy Man. Holy Man is among the greatest tracks with a solid sing along chorus and a great bluesy guitar solo.

Other prominence moments include my old favorite Falling in and Out of Love. Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx wrote the song. Nikki Sixx was dating Lita, while she was in Runaways. The live version is lacking a bit of the same punch as the studio version, but you cannot hold a good song down. The song has a great rhythm and the piano provides lots of emotion to the song. The song ends very cool with the guitars soloing on top of each other and at last harmonizing. Another highlight is the atmospheric song Black Widow with a great creepy intro.

Lita Ford gets a deserved break during the instrumental The Ripper before she finishes with her greatest hits. The first couple of times it was a bit weird to hear Close my Eyes Forever without Ozzy's characteristic vocals. Since 10 years I have been used to hearing Ozzy's vocals lines, but Lita does a great job and on this ballad she is really proving that she is a great singer.

The concert ends with the first single from the "Stiletto" album called Hungry. The great keyboard sound effects are reproduced live also. Kiss me deadly was a top 20 single for Lita Ford and even though it is not the best track it is bringing great memories from the late 80's. The song is bubble gum Rock, which was able to read a wide audience and the song will always be special since it also was my introduction to Lita Ford.

Lita Ford is ending the concert with Rock Candy and thereby, like many American rock bands, paying tribute to Montrose. LA Guns and Bullet Boys are among the bands, which have been playing Rock Candy also. Of course you can always complain about the song selection, but I would have preferred a Lita Ford penned song like Back to the Cave, Stiletto or the beautiful Lisa instead of the Montrose song.

All together the songs played at this show are representing Lita's material very well. The performance is solid making the fans wish for a comeback album.
