What is your name and your current position in the band?

Lars Johansson : guitarist

Tell us about the history of the band. More specifically, when was the band formed, how did you meet, and have there been any particular highlights or lowpoints in your career, any crucial events that have taken you where you are today?

Well me and Janne has always been doing some stuff in the gaps of Candlemass scedule, so it was just to find the right people to do it with. And i checked around for a while and met Torbjörn and maybe a year later or so, i got hooked up with Michael. We are checking the reviews of this album, then we´ll se what to do and where ít brings us..

Was there ever a time when you wondered if your band would remain just a local outfit and never make it in the industry?

Not really, it was just a question of having the time and the songs that felt good to ourselves. Since all of us has a longer experience of the music industry and what levels that are expected in that, we just had to decide what level that´ll work for us..

How would you categorize the style of the band?

Hard´n heavy, fast n´slow, and heavy heavy metal, dont you think ? :)

Did you ever consider or try playing other styles of music than the one(s) you are playing now?

I have always been playing hard-rock music, but i am also a good ``alround guitarist´´, playing blues and some jazzy tunes to, my heart stays in the metal scene though..

Can you share with us one or two of your favourite moments with the band?

The Favourite moments is for me always when you are in the studio, and everybody puts their soul in the work, and you mix it up together and you hear it for the first time in the way it may turn out, or close..

How is the writing process in the band?

I come up with the riffs. Then i write about 70-80% of the lyrics...

What brought you on the path to becoming a musician? Did you ever consider or take any other paths through life besides music?

No, not really. I saw Hendrix funeral on tv when i was a kid, then i knew that guitar was my thing..

Do you have any idols? If yes, who?

I admire some musicians for their ability to put the soul into the instrument they are playing ... In the early days it was Blackmore, Hendrix, Marino, Holdsworth, Beck, Roth... Later i added Van halen And Satriani to the list, but there are so many good axemen that moves me so i can go on making this list longer than you´ll know...

Do you have any regrets looking back at your career? For example any songs or even full albums that you regret recording? If so, what made you regret it?

No regrets, no looking back, im happy with everything ive been playing on so far...

Are there particular songs in your catalogue that the fans love but you're not particular fond of yourself?

Not really, when you get ``connected´´ with the people, live you don´t think about what song you favour or not.

How important do you rate the lyrical side of your albums?

Equal. The lyrics is always important, but also the riffs that builds it all up...

What do you think about the state of the music industry today?

I am sorry to say that it seems going slowly down, and high prices for the records and all this downloading at the web doesn´t make it better.....

What do you think is the best way to fight music piracy?

Well i dont know man.... I know that as soon as the first promo is sent where ever its going, you can load it down from the net pretty qvick.... No matter what artist you´re talking about...

Do you have a life philosophy? If yes, what is it?

Taking it easy, saving your heartbeats, you only have one life, spend it well Know your limits and fear..

Can you describe a typical day in your life?

Getting up at 5:30 in the morning, Having a large coffe, since im a working man you know..

What do you like to spend your time with besides music?

Vacations at quiet places.

What's the craziest thing that has ever happened on a tour?

There is so many things that´ll happen while you´re moving along with it. But when Savatage came up on stage once (1989) and took away all Jannes cymbals from the drum raiser, while we were playing, that was a real killer joke, but we got revenge later on so.....

You're heading off to live on a deserted island for a couple of years with your portable entertainment system... Which albums, movies or books would you bring? (Max. 3 of each)

I think i would enjoy the quietness until i started to build some kind of Instrument...
Or the KillBill movies and some Tom & Jerry cartoons would be nice. The exorcist and the Omen movies can go there as well... Music ??? something with Beethoven, Deep purple, Led zeppelin and Pantera would do the trick i think..

What is your favourite joke?

Making highfreqvently disturbing sounds with my mouth, to freak the monitor guys out, so they think it´s feedback or something...

Can you tell us about any future plans for you and your band?

Doing some gigs, checking the reviews, and make another album later on, in a pace that suits us all well, trying to get some festivals would be nice...

Thanks for answering these questions. Now you are free to write a few lines to our readers.

Stay loud.. Stop the wars... And please save the planet......
