Friday, January 1, 2010 - Royal Hunt - New Album Title Revealed
Royal Hunt have issued the following year-end update:

"Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you like this new-and-improved look and functionality of our website. Please go and re-register on our site to join our community forum.

So - what do we have in store for you? First of all: our new album is done! As this will be our tenth studio release we decided not to elaborate on its title too much, so here you go: Royal Hunt - X. And it will be out in 2010.

Secondly: we've been talking to various promoters in order to arrange some gigs to support our new release and it looks like there'll be some live on stage action in April/May 2010.

In general: it's hard to predict how things will shape out with the current state-of-affairs in our 'beloved' music business (with piracy and illegal downloading playing the rapidly increasing, harmful part of it), but we'll definitively give this album a fair chance and work hard to make it successful; in case it won't work. well, than you'd have to make the next one yourselves.

And now - one more time - Happy New Year!"

Tuesday, May 12, 2009 - Royal Hunt Launch Studio Diary
Royal Hunt have launched a studio diary at their website where fans can follow the entire recording process of the new album. The band is planning regular updates, photos, video clips, as well as a track by track recording of one of the songs from the album.

A new update reads: "As you all know by now, this album will be recorded in an "old school" fashion (not only songwriting has been done in that way, but the actual means of recording are suppose to match the 70`s atmosphere as well); now - all of the sudden - it's all about old analogue gear, drifty tape machines, noisy amps and kilometres of tape... in short: trashy ancient crap in different forms and shapes :-)

Without a doubt: an interesting - and somehow daring - idea, which might look and sound quite appealing (in theory), but is it doable? Only time will tell.

But - while in the process of figuring it out - why not make it a little bit more interesting (for some of you, at least)?... and after some head scratching we decided to give you a chance to observe (well, to listen to, mostly) how one of the songs from our future album will be build from scratch - an instrument at the time, all the way to the final mix. So don't forget to check out our "Studio Diary" from time to time - the journey's about to begin!"

Sunday, December 16, 2007 - Royal Hunt album news
Press release from Royal Hunt:

After eight studio albums, three live albums/DVD´s and a few special releases (EP´s, compilations etc.) - combined sales over 1.5 million copies - ROYAL HUNT decided to produce a sequel to their critically acclaimed release from 1997 Paradox.

The sequel (Collision Course. Paradox II) takes off from the idea and atmosphere of its predecessor but - without a doubt - sounds charged to go for 2007. No ammunition's being saved for this one - six months of recordings in NorthPoint Studio, mix at EMI Studios, best musicianship possible (the band was there to define the term neo-prog with their first release back in 1991) and even a bunch of good friends as participants: Doogie White (RAINBOW, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN), Ian Parry (ELEGY, CONSORTIUM PROJECT), Kenny Lubcke (JOKER'S WILD, NARITA), Henrik Brockmann (ex-Royal Hunt, EVIL MASQUERADE) among others. And yes, there are female voices, real violins, cellos and woodwinds thrown in for good measure.

With this album Royal Hunt is introducing their new lead singer Mark Boals (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, RING OF FIRE). His great voice and talent, plus many years of experience are perfect fit for the band.

Andre Andersen comments on the band's website: "Album is done. It's such a great feeling to finally be able to hold your new "baby" in your hands (weird at the same time. looking at this tiny CD, knowing how much time and money went into its creation). And a bit sad at the same time - we had such a blast making it, there's been tons and tons of great moments in the process: countless barbecues and other assorted "nights out", a bunch of dear friends/guests who joined us along the way and even the fact that all of us - for almost 6 months period - had this album as a cornerstone of our lives, the goal which we were working so hard to achieve - as a unit. I know, I know it sounds sentimental but there's always that bittersweet feeling than the job is done and you're looking back at the process. But now it's all history - for us, at least. For you there's another album to discover and - hopefully - to enjoy, and we all wish you the latter. in spades".

The lyrical concept is as controversial as the original Paradox - this time concentrating on a 'collision course' of modern Western world and 'a new breed', grown on Eastern religious movements. Musically you'll have it all - album runs in a 'non stop' fashion (all songs are chained together): there are huge epics, intricate progressive arrangements and all good things metal with killer melodies. and there will be videos. and a concert tour. Combine all this with an astonishing line-up and a grand scale production, and you've got a winner. Frontiers Records will release in Europe Collision Course.. Paradox II on March 14th 2008, with more details to be announced at a later stage.

Soundclips can be found here.

Thursday, March 10, 2005 - Royal Hunt news
News from Royal Hunt:

"The recording of Royal Hunt's new album is coming to an end - very last touches are being put down as we speak. The process which took 14 months of studio time, countless miles of international flights, gallons of sweat-blood'n tears and even more gallons of Jack Daniels is almost over.

The CD will contain 10 songs (no concept this time) and clocks at just a bit over 50 minutes. Mixing will start in the middle of March in the legendary EMI/Medley Studio in Copenhagen with André (Andersen - keyboards) and Lars Overgaard behind the board. During some "pre-" listening parties (the band and the management held quite a few in the last couple of weeks) the responses from the journalists and some - very fortunate fans were overwhelming: almost everybody agreed on one thing ... that this is THE most energetic, inspiring RH release ever!"

Thursday, December 18, 2003 - Royal Hunt news
Royal Hunt have posted the following announcement at their official website

"Dear friends, After more than 10 years of working with Royal Hunt, Steen Mogensen (bass) and Jacob Kjaer (guitar) have decided to leave the band. They feel that it is the right time to move on, to explore different aspects of their musical careers.

Fortunately, there are no unsolved conflicts or misunderstandings to distort the process of the split, so everybody is wishing each other the best of luck in the future.

We would like to thank again our fans for supporting the band through the years - you are the best!

Best regards, Royal Hunt."
