Sunday, July 18, 2004 - Tim Donahue - Writing Commences For Edge Of Insanity | Even as he gears up for the North American release of Madmen & Sinners - also featuring Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie - this August, guitarist Tim Donahue has started writing music for the follow-up. Currently going by the name EDGE OF INSANITY, the material continues the musical direction started explored on the Madmen & Sinners album.
Donahue spoke to BW&BK about his plans for his new work:
"I haven't talked with James yet about the next one, says Donahue. "Actually, I'm not in a rush because the music will speak more than I ever could. I'd rather get more music done before thinking about the vocal thing. I'm doing this on purpose so I can write in a different frame of mind than with Madmen, where James' voice was in my head during the compostion. That was cool, but now I'll approach Edge Of Insanity a bit differently for variety's sake."
In other news, Donahue has confirmed that the Taiwanese label Rock Empire will release Madmen & Sinners in Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China. As previously reported, this release will feature access to unreleased photos from the recording sessions and unreleased artwork.
